Dental Implants
Dental implants are used as a permanent tooth replacement option that can restore the function and appearance of missing teeth. It is
a tooth “root” like device, made of titanium and is surgically placed into the jawbone.
Once placed in the bone it integrates with the bone. The procedure is done in Two-Stages, first the surgical phase that involves
placing the implant in the bone. Second- stage is a Restorative Phase, done after a healing period of a few months, involves attaching a
Crown or a Bridge on the Implant, providing a strong and natural-looking replacement tooth.
In some scenarios, but not always, the Implants can be placed immediately after extraction of the teeth and also can be immediately restored with a Crown.
We at Smiles Dental Care, have incorporated the latest advances in technology to make the Surgical process predictable. Recovery from dental implant surgery is usually quick and painless. You may experience some swelling and discomfort, but this should go away within a few days.

Dental Veneers are thin, custom-made shells of Ceramic or Composite resin that are bonded to the front of teeth for Smile Enhancement. They
can be used to correct a variety of problems like, Stained, chipped or discoloured teeth, malaligned teeth or to close gaps in between teeth.
Ceramic Veneers are more long-lasting and natural-looking, as compared to composite resin veneers, but they are also more expensive.
Ceramic veneers are generally preferred as a more permanent and aesthetic option for Smile Enhancement. Smiles Dental Care is a
pioneer in Digital Smile Designs and is enhancing the smiles and changing lives of individuals and operates with the most trusted

The procedure for placing Dental Veneers is relatively simple and can be completed in two or three appointments. The first appointment
involves taking impressions of the teeth and choosing the shade of veneers. The second appointment involves bonding the Veneers to the
teeth.

Dental veneers can last for many years if they are properly cared for. They require regular brushing and flossing, just like natural teeth.go away within a few days.

is typically recommended for patients with significant dental problems, such as missing, worn, or severely decayed teeth. Full mouth
rehabilitation can improve a patient's oral health, function, and appearance.
The specific treatments that are included in Full Mouth Rehabilitation vary depending on the individual patient's needs. However, some
common treatments include Crowns, Bridges, Veneers, Dental Implants, and Dentures. In some cases, Orthodontic treatment may also be
necessary.
Full mouth rehabilitation is a complex Inter-disciplinary process that provides patients with a dramatic improvement in their oral health, function
and appearance.

Orthodontics and Aligners
Orthodontic treatment, generally also known as Braces Treatment, focuses on straightening and realigning the teeth and jaw. This can
be done to improve the appearance of the smile, correct an irregular bite, or improve oral health. Orthodontic treatment typically takes
several months to several years to complete. During treatment, patients will need to visit their orthodontist for regular checkups and
adjustments.
There are many different types of orthodontic appliances that can be used to straighten teeth, including braces, clear aligners, and
retainers. The type of appliance that is used will depend on the individual patient's needs and preferences.
Below are some of the most common types of orthodontic appliances:
● Braces: Braces are the most common type of orthodontic appliance. They consist of brackets that are bonded to the teeth and
wires that are threaded through the brackets. Braces can be Metal or Ceramic.
● Clear aligners: Clear aligners are a type of removable orthodontic appliance that is made of clear plastic. They are custom-made
to fit the individual patient's teeth and should be worn for 22 hours per day. Clear aligners are a good option for patients who
want a more discreet orthodontic treatment.
● Retainers: Retainers are used to hold the teeth in their new position after orthodontic treatment is complete. They can be
removable or fixed.
Crowns and Bridges:
Crowns (caps) are used to cover teeth that are weakened by decay, severely damaged, chipped or discoloured. Crowns on teeth are
frequently required after root canal therapy on molars and premolars to protect them from fracture. The tooth is shaped to support the
crown. Crowns can be metallic or metal-free. The advantage of metal free crowns, such as Zirconia and E.max, are the masking of the
grey hue on the gum line caused by the silver coloured metal.
While implant dentistry has decreased the need for bridges, we at Smiles Dental Clinic still frequently use the classical bridge to replace
a missing tooth. Two or more teeth on either side of a missing tooth are shaped to receive a bridge. Bridges can also be metallic or
metal free.

Paediatric Dentistry
The primary/milk teeth are the predecessors of the permanent teeth and maintain space for them till they are developed
fully and ready to erupt into the mouth. Losing milk teeth prematurely causes the permanent teeth to come into unwanted
positions and are responsible for crooked teeth.
Paediatric Dentistry is a branch of Dentistry that deals with Oral health of children from birth through adolescence. We, at
Smiles Dental Care, provide answers to your child’s dental health needs by nurturing good habits from the very start. We start with the
parents, to educate them on the importance of caring for milk teeth till they are shed naturally as the growing jaw develops.Sealants or
coating on teeth and fluoride applications are used to strengthen and protect enamel. This is routine in child care
Paediatric Dentistry at Smiles Dental Care also provides advice on ideal foods, dietary choices, lifestyle habits and maintenance tips to ensure that the transition from milk teeth to permanent teeth results in your toddler growing up into a healthy, good looking and confident adult.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Teeth whitening is a reversible Process. People who expose their teeth to staining foods and beverages can see the whiteness fade away faster. However, a repeated enhancement helps maintain the whiteness. We recommend getting a maintenance session done once a year for Zoom Whitening and twice a year for others.
Minor sensitivity may be experienced in certain cases during the procedure and sometimes, may persist for about 24 to 48 hrs after the procedure. This eventually settles down.
A crown covers the entire tooth on all sides and a Veneer only covers the front side of the tooth. Veneers are thin and hence require minimum to no re-shaping of the tooth structure, thereby conserving more tooth structure.
Veneers can be made in either Composite or Ceramic (E.max- Lithium Disilicate). Composite Veneering is a Direct- Chairside Procedure, where Composite is bonded on the Tooth-surface to achieve the desired shape and shade. Ceramic Veneering is an Indirect Technique, it involves reshaping of teeth, followed by an Impression, which is then Processed in a Dental Lab to fabricate the Veneers.
Composite veneers can discolor or chip over the period of time. They may need maintenance or periodic redoing. However, Ceramic veneers are resistant to staining and hence, are a permanent option.
A Tooth/Dental crown can be made in Metal, Metal-fused to Ceramic(PFM), Zirconia or Lithium Disilicate (Emax).
Dental Implants are the safest form of Teeth replacement. They are made of Grade 4 Titanium alloy, which is biocompatible to the human Body, meaning they are not harmful or toxic to the human body. There are sufficient studies to back this data and hence is safe.
Implant placement is a precise protocol, which involves pre planning for a seamless surgery. It therefore does not result in much postoperative discomfort or pain. With the availability of modern local anesthetics, there is virtually no pain during dental procedures. The patient can expect a slight discomfort on the day of the procedure.
With modern local anesthetics, there is virtually no pain during the procedures. The patient can expect slight discomfort after visits, which can easily be managed by OTC painkillers.
As soon as the child starts growing the deciduous / milk teeth i.e. by 2-4 years of age they should visit the dentist. This helps in getting the right guidance for oral health care. It also gets the child used to the atmosphere in the Dental office as being friendly instead of being taken there with pain and having an unpleasant experience.
Preventive Treatments such as Fluoride application and Pit and Fissure Sealants are highly recommended for Kids.
The biting surfaces of the back teeth are rough and uneven because they have small pits and grooves. They tend to accumulate food and bacteria. Sealants are thin resin coatings which are painted on the chewing surfaces of the back teeth. Children should get these sealants on their primary and permanent molars as soon as they erupt in the oral cavity before decay attacks the teeth!
Fluoride treatments make teeth more resistant to decay, repair tiny areas before they become big cavities and prevent dental cavities.
